In the 1930's my father, Galileo Galilei Tobia, began his career as a tile setter in New York City. He later moved and founded the Ceramic Tile Company in upstate New York. He specialized in the traditional thick-bed mortar installation methods for ceramic tile and stone, in which archeological evidence has shown, dates back to the Egyptian era over 5000 years ago.

My father was a true craftsman. His work has endured well over 50 years in the harsh northeastern climate. Some examples are the Lutheran Church in Guilderland, New York, his home and business at 340 Columbia Tpk. in East Greenbush, New York and Williams College in Massachusetts to name a few. He carried this same standard to all aspects of his work, specializing in residential kitchen and bathroom design as well as exterior stone and masonry.

Pride in his work, along with expertise in his trade, brought a high level of satisfaction to my dad.

I'm Gino. As a second generation tile-setter and mason, I always strive to carry on my fathers tradition of high quality and customer satisfaction. My dad taught me old-time craftsmanship and combined with my experiences in new designs, techniques and materials, has proven to be a positive combination. My experience includes over 20+ years in the tile business. Currently, I am licensed with a California State Contractors license, C-54. Working in southern California, the "Mecca" of the ceramic tile industry, has added just more professional experiences that is unmatched anywhere in the United States. So, whether it's a new design, a challenging project or perhaps just an installation that you need done the "Old-School" way, call us, we can help.
